There are hundreds of ways to have fun and be active in nature!
Beginner Outdoor Adventure
Our beginner project will be focusing on hiking through out north county with trails being between 2-3 miles. This project will be geared towards our younger members, those that are new to hiking, or those that prefer a more leisurely pace. We will have crafts, bingo, and shorter learning experiences scheduled at each meeting to learn about local plants & animals and proper hiking etiquette & safety with trips to visitor centers, a slot canyon, a gem & rock museum, and a beach clean up. A camping trip will be scheduled towards the end of the school year. If you have a camera, outdoor photography is encouraged. This project is open to all 4-Hers ages 5-18.
Beginner Outdoor Adventure normally meets the first Sunday of the month at 12PM.
Advanced Outdoor Adventure
In the advanced outdoor adventure project we will be focusing on hiking and the many hiking trails through out San Diego County. We will learn about the local plants and animals, proper hiking etiquette and safety, map and GPS reading, first aid, and other necessary skills. This project will include hikes in San Diego and eastern county, Have fun trying new outdoor activities like tent camping at Cuyamaca and Joshua Tree National Park, indoor rock climbing, kayaking, and stand up paddle boarding. This project is open to all members 9 and up that can hike a minimum of six miles.
Advanced Outdoor Adventure usually meets the second Sunday of the month.
Note: Dogs, excluding service animals, will not be permitted at meetings.
